Its that time of year again... Holiday Ornament Swap!

This year I have joined 3 different swaps.. So around 20 ornaments to make, oh no! But It also means I get 20 new ones too! YAY! The first is Whispered One Secret The second one is freshlyblended's Swap that Alisa Bobzien has taken over. This is the one I usually join. And the third is Hillbilly Handiworks Swap, I'm new this year but I'm sure I'll love it as much as I do the others. I think this year I'm making fabric postcards. Which can be displayed on a tree and mailed. So little to no packaging also! YAY! As soon as I have a picture of one I'll post it.

Shakespeare in the Park...

I know you might be thinking, "Shakespeare in the Park, in Miami?"
Yes folks, we have some culture too....

Last weekend I dragged Mariza, Bea, Michael, and Frank with me to Barnacle Park to watch the production of Taming of the Shrew.

We had a fabulous time! The park is lovely, we brought snacks, and beach chairs; many people had blankets and towels to sit on. The acting was great and the singing too. Even the weather cooperated it was a cool 70 degrees. I didn't bring the Snuggie, but my sweater was fine.
It was a nice, free, family style event.
Glad I went., I'll definitely go again!

The cold reaches Miami...

The new year and new decade starts chilly!

So many of you in the north think that us South Floridians are whinny but MAN its cold! It was 37 degrees last night! Tonight it is going to be around 29! For those of us who usually wear scarves and flip flops, we are scrambling to layer up and using our heaters.

So in honor of the weather, I used the recipe that Apartment Therapy's The Kitchn has of Split Pea Soup!

I was lucky enough to have a ham bone left over from our Christmas dinner!
